We fund and support the education journey from beginning to end to create the opportunity for social mobility and to help all those with talent succeed.’

30th June 2025 marked the 20th Anniversary of the setting up of the Collins Educational Trust as well as the centenary of the birth of our founder, Roy Collins.
The life changing education he gained at the Royal Grammar School Guildford was the inspiration for the foundation of the Charity – so it was entirely appropriate to mark the occasion by way of a lunch with representatives of the Trust and Roy’s old school.

'Collins Educational Trust was founded by Roy Collins. His inspiration came from his own experience of growing up in Guilford, Surrey with his ordinary hard-working parents, where he was lucky to be able to attend the local grammar school which set him up for a love of learning and an excellent education from which he attributed his very successful career in International business.
Towards the end of his life Roy wanted to give something back, having experienced the capacity of top-quality education. He recognised the importance to society of diverse talent, he also realised that there are many people whose natural abilities would flourish with the right inspirational training, but who lacked the resource to access it.
In 2005 on his 80th birthday, born out of his own experience and future thinking Roy founded the Collins Educational Trust as a gift to ensure that his dream can live on in the educational opportunities for others. We have built on the beginnings of Roy Collins work and grown Collins Educational Trust to where it is today, with the belief that everyone with talent should be able to access the very best education available regardless of socio-economic background.'
